Regular removal of plaque, tartar and staining is an essential element of your oral hygiene routine. We like to know about your dental care routine at home so that we can offer you an appropriate preventative advice.

 

Thorough scaling using an ultrasonic scaler allows for mechanical removal of plaque and tartar.
Air polishing (airflow) is then used to remove the most superficial staining.
Both procedures can be carried out under local anaesthetic. 
 

Most patients would have this treatment done twice a year. Patients with gum disease are usually advised to come 3-4 times a year.
It is also a good idea to book in before whitening or any other cosmetic treatment.
